In order to continue to live up to that title, Rod Stewart announced a 56-city tour of the US and Canada for next year to promote his newest album, “Still the Same … Great Rock Classics of Our Time.”

His fourth number one album, “Still the Same” debuted there after it’s release Oct. 10. The disc marks Stewart’s return to rock, after a string of covers: four “Great American Songbook” compilations. The third installment, “Stardust” even won a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2005.

A few facts about the legendary Stewart

Rod was perhaps was the biggest fan of second wife Rachel Hunter, as he once said he’d rather lose his member than cheat on her. For years the only way he'd do a show was if he could leave directly after and come home to her. Every night he'd hop on a plane as soon as the show was over. But the two divorced in 2004 and by 2005 he was engaged for the third time, to the 34-year-old model Penny Lancaster. The two had a child in December of 2006 and their wedding is set for next year.

His friends don’t call him grave digger for nothing. Stewart used to dig graves for cash back in the 60s. But days have been better lately. Stewart keeps his Hot Legs primed and ready as he participates in a senior football league. He’ll even kick a soccer ball out into the audience during shows.
